Yann Idibo – PHOTO Winner August 2024
Yann Idibo is a young Ivorian photographer living in Yopougon, one of the thirteen communes of the Abidjan district also known as Yopougon City or Yop City. He tells us: “I am self-taught, passionate about art and expression through photography. My shyness led me to express my emotions through images. I define my style as phototexture, which consists of using shapes and colors for evocative compositions.”
Certified by the European Union for a photographic project, Yann Idibo aims to exhibit his works in large hotels and public spaces. In addition to architectural photography, he also does product and fashion photography, sharing his vision of the world through his creations.
Yann Idibo is the winner of the Phonematic Photo Contest for the month of August 2024 in his first participation with a score of 10.00 out of 20. He is the third Ivorian in the list of finalists currently made up of Cameroonian Franck Amana winner in June after Franck Ismael KONE and Bleu Jean Marc SIA respectively winners in April and May.
He presented his photo book entitled Shapes and Colors, an invitation to see beyond the appearance of things. A tribute to the beauty hidden in the details of everyday life, a testimony to the harmony that emerges from urban chaos. He says: My approach to street photography is instinctive and spontaneous. Without staging, I capture the raw energy of urban scenes, where each moment can reveal a new composition of vibrant colors and geometric shapes. Through these images, I invite you to discover the shapes and colors that make our streets vibrate.
Were competing this August 2024:
- Yann Idibo (11.00/20), Yopougon, Abidjan, Ivory Coast
